December 30, 200619 yr I guess the bandwagon has gotten more crowded in recent weeks. And a call out to Apex on his June prediction. I see 8-4 for the football Wildcats with that schedule....anything less and it is time to hit the dusty trails for the old coach. I see 6-5 with that schedule and one of those wins will be a toss-up. I'm a Cats fan, but I'm also being a realist. I say the Cats go 6-6. I could see them going anywhere from 5-7 to 7-5...it's just according to how they start out the season versus Louisville. I honestly think that if they can get by Louisville. I see a 4-8 season, with Brooks keeping his job due the winning 3 of the last 5 and hopes for improved talent down the road. Texas St. will knock off UK; you heard it here first. :thumb: Oh, don't get me wrong - I love going to watch the Cats play and I don't ever miss a game on t.v., but unless something changes big-time - I don't see a bowl game this season. I would LOVE it if they did make a bowl game, but... When UK wins four games this year and Brooks is shown the door, you'll be surprised at the number of young coaches that show interest. To get to six wins UK has to pull at least one upset and not get upset by any of the patsy schools on this years schedule. That means beating a team like USC and not letting down against a team similar to Ohio. They haven't been able to do either of these things recently so I really don't expect them to do both this season. I predict four wins and bye-bye Brooks. UK will still be very young and their depth is steeped in youth. I think UK will be better and could win 6 games. I will go with 6-6 as my pick. Anything better is just gravy. He's won a total of nine games in three years.....he shouldn't even be coaching there....I bet they don't win four this year. At least we have the Bengals and High School. If UK doesn't win by 3 TD's there's something really, really wrong (I already know there is), in Lexington. Texas State 42 UK -35 Our defense gives up another 500 yards of offense. UK has improved this season, but imo not even close to enough to compete in the SEC. UK's defense is terrible along with the line play. We HAVE to be able to run the football before anything else can open up and go on a consistent basis and we have to stop people on defense intead of the "matador" defense that we are playing (step aside and wave at em' as they run by). I would love to see them in a bowl game but I have expressed my opinions on 6 win season bowl team. I think that it is crazy to have .500 team in a Bowl. There are far too many bowls but that is all about the $$$$ and nothing else. I wouldn't be surprised to see UK finish 5-7 this season. I hope not, but their defense just isn't getting it done. That strong UK fan base cant sell out Commonwealth this year so I would rely on that statement. If UK goes to a bowl it must win 7 and I dont see that happening this year. UK defense a.k.a. ( The Matador Defense ). They are pathetic, Louisville Male could probably score a couple times on them......:irked: :irked: JOKE!!!!!!!!!! On to the remaining schedule...I see 4 very "winnable" games: Miss St., GA, Vandy, and LA-Monroe.... Lets just count TN as a big L (coaching staff already has...... Just like they thought So. Carolina was going to be a L....) If UK cant win three of the four games ID'd above, then UK President should interveine and fire Rich and Mich..... This is so bad, its not worth wasting my electons on (in typing the same ole case....) I just find it incredible that their are actually fans that say Brooks is doing a good job and that he needs more time........... If UK football had anykind of a national presence, that would be the best joke on SNL...... Its bad....Its real....Its over..... It is a Disaster: Make no mistake about it..... Does UK have better players than they have had in the past.....yes. The thing is these coaches don't know what to do with them. Open your eyes... In college the life blood of a program is recruiting. You can only sell playing time for so long. Getting Waxed by UofL, the trick play at the end of the USC game, getting absolutely waxed by LSU doesn't much impress the recruits. Mark it down, UK will never be a winner with this coach. Is Archer the only Def. Coordinator with a clause in his contract that say's he doesn't go on the road to recruit...unreal. I think there is no reason why UK can't win at football. They may never be on top of the SEC, but they shoud be a .500 club at worst. Each year they should upset a team or two and go to a bowl more often than not. JMO. BTW, Brooks will never take you there. Why support losing?????????? I don't get it. If Brooks needs to go then he needs to go......period. UK is not going to win with this guy. We are imnproving..... everything is just fine ..... and we support our coach 110%..... He is our man....... If there was ever a no brainer in a coaching decision, this has to be it..... Archer's defense holds the Tigers to a measly 40pts. :eek: Clemson 40 U.K. 21 I don't see UK stopping Clemson's rushing attack. The Cats better score every chance or this one could get ugly. I believe UK comes ready to play this game and leaves Nashville with the upset. UK 31-28. Kentucky 26 Clemson 17 Morriss took over a program in worse shape than UK.(which I know is hard to believe) Thye will be in a bowl game this season. Baylor will beat Texas Am, Texas tech and Oklahoma. Yes the Army game was a tough loss. But so was UK' loss to Ohio U.

I'm a UofL fan as well, when UofL went to those Liberty bowls in 00 and 01 then 02 and 03 to the Mobile bowls, I did not think all is a wash in fact we only won 2 out of the last 8 bowl games, at least UK won 98 Marshell lost 99 Bosie lost 00 Colorado state lost 01 BYU won 02 Miami oh lost 03 Marshell lost 04 Utah won 05 Vir Tech lost

Petrino is not part of the equation, being we are talking about UK's current situation "the first bowl game in a while like UL's first bowl game in a while in 1998 Take UL before Petrino. When UL was becoming UL back in the early John L years 1998-2002 Take UK now "maybe" becoming UK, take it as UL's 1998 season. UK won Great! If they don't get to a bowl game next year it still could be a great improvement for UK. UL barely made a bowl game the 1999 season at the Humanitarian bowl game and lost to Boise. After the 1998 lost to Marshall and we barely made it to Boise and lost I never, never thought all was a wash, UofL was making their name. UK is trying to make their name, just like UofL did, give them some credit, I am being a UofL fan

His schedule isn't quite at easy next year. So what happens if he back-slides to 5-7 and out of the bowl picture? FYI, you will make a lot more money betting against Brooks and the Cats than for them. He is still a coach with a lifetime losing record and that will still be true when he gets run out of town (don't they all seem to get run out of Lexington in the end?). Make sure to save this one as well.:thumb:
