Weight Lifting Class

At Boyle County, they have 5 weightlifting classes a day that anyone in the student body can take. Football team usually does 1st period and then the other sports programs will have kids in the other classes.

Russell had several periods of Strength and Conditioning as well and anyone could take the class also. I would think they still offer those but I am not sure. We went to the field house which was small then but Russell built a nice new field house a few years ago so I’m sure it’s a lot better now.

Do you all have weights in school, @ChiefSmoke?

Yes.

I was told Garrard had it when Scenters was there, not sure if they still do or not,

Football players are put in it during first period and they will come in 30-45 minutes early and lift through the first period. This allows there to be time to do fundamental-centered drills and work after school.

That is how they used to do it. Now they came in every morning before school to earlier than the normal time to do the work they used to do after school. This is so they do not have to share time/facilities with other sports as most of them are not going in the morning.

Fleming County has 2 periods of it that is open to any student, not just athletes.
