Bengals at Ravens Predictions/Updates

This is a big one for the Bengals if they are truly going to contend for the AFC North title this year. A win and they will improve to 5-3 and 2-0 in the division. The Ravens are playing their best ball of the season after a total beat down of the Chargers 34-6. Go Bengals!!

Keys to Bengals win:

Offense has to play a whole game and not just the second half. 

Defense needs to squeeze the pocket on Lamar with a 4 man rush. Keep him in the pocket. 

Win the turnover battle.

I use to be very confident in the Bengals games against the Ravens. However, since Jackson has taken over at QB. The bengals literally haven’t even seemed to be truly close to beating them. 
 

With that said the defense is much better this year. However, they need a full game out of offense. The offense can’t have many 3 and outs or turnovers like they have done this year.

The Bengals historically have issues covering the tight end.  That is a bad recipe when playing the Ravens.

In the preseason I'm not sure many, if anyone, had the Bengals winning this game.  That said, it wouldn't surprise me to see them pull it off.  My main concern is coming out of this slobber-knocker healthy.

I know McPherson missed a couple long ones against the Packers, but I have more confidence in him at 50+ yards than any kicker in Bengals history. He has a huge leg.

Ravens DB got away with one. He grabbed Higgins left arm which prevented Higgins from catching that one.

Bad game by Hubbard so far. Two big plays where he lost contain on Lamar.

Offense is going to be limited all day. Will need to resort to trickery, misdirection, unique play design, etc. Our O line has no chance against the Ravens front.

To that, I will say pressure on Zac Taylor. That was a big part of why he got the job - offensive savvy.
