I listened to press conference and Cardinals upper management said it was a difference of philosophy going forward and not how team was managed on the field.

Must've been one heck of a difference.

And to think this could have all been fixed if he’d have won eighteen straight games during the season.

Sounds like he needed to go 162-0 and win every game in the playoffs including the World Series.

Wow, nice reward for getting them into the playoffs.  

He didn't last longer in the playoffs that Tony LaRussa.  I think St. Louis is still mad he came back to manage another team.

Reading some of the vague statements made by the Cardinals GM I am beginning to wonder if there was not something not even baseball related but maybe personality related?

 

He made a comment about "the overall health of the club."  That statement threw me off and makes me question the philosophical differences as if maybe they were how he was treating players or staff???
