December 30, 200619 yr Just when I start to twist myself into believing it's possible, I'm reminded that Art Shell and his crack staff are still in charge and all hope rushes away. The good news is this: the Raiders defense is pretty good and the Jets offense is very average. Therefore, it should be low scoring, and in that situation, I guess anything can happen. I would have to place most of the blame of the teams performance on Al Davis, he seems to have lost his evaluation skills over the past 3 or 4 years. I remember when Davis could pick up players that were thought to be over the hill and get another couple of years out of them, but I think those days are over. I think that Shell is a fair to good coach, but he dosen't seem to be getting a lot of help from Davis.
