Coach Wallace was quoted this morning in the Courier Journal saying four of the six injured defensive players will be in uniform with two of them potential seeing action this Friday. Penerillo and Meirs are the two who could play on Friday.

Always a good game, but if everyone plays their best, X wins.  With Jaxon and Meires back it will only help.

I'll be excited for Meires return. He had a great sophomore year, and is a disruptive force at DL. Plus, can never hurt to get more depth at the line of scrimmage.

Wallace said junior linebacker Jaxon Panariello and junior defensive end Teddy Meiers are expected to play against the Shamrocks. Senior cornerback Matthew Donhoff and sophomore cornerback Kanon Williams are likely to be in uniform but are questionable to play, Wallace said.

I guess it's time to make my prediction for this game. It's cliché, but throw the records out the window. Trinity has shown they're competitive against an elite schedule and St. X has shown to be battle tested against quality opponents. But unlike the last couple of years, I think St. X has the advantage in the trenches which they will be able to lean on Trinity as the game goes on. Mekhi Smith will be a stat sheet stuffer and St. X gets the victory, 28-14.

Wallace beat Trinity his first year at X, but yes, this is one he needs to win IMO.

Mekhi Smith probably had the biggest game in his career against Elder. Let's see if he can duplicate that effort tonight.
