By then his broken hand will seperate from his wrist and they'll have to do some miracle surgery to fix it.

They can't win without him either.

Hard to say there. With all the salary he eats up, the Reds may be completely different if he never came here. Didn't they have some success right before he arrived.

Yeah in 1990.:D

Yeah in 1990.:D

I thought they played a one game playoff with the Mets in the late 90s. I am guessing they had a good record that year. Without Jr?

Yeah they did. It was a joke.

Man I can't believe this guys luck its the worst ever. He must not drink enough milk or something!

What was a joke about a winning season and getting a chance to play in postseason. I know the actual play in game was a dud. But the Reds have won without JR. Have not won with him, and again will win without him.

And away we go.....

I feel like the ghost's of baseball past are out to get this guy.

For some reason, flashbacks of Wade Boggs pulling a back muscle putting on boots or Glenallen Hill suffering cuts and scrapes from an arachnaphobic dream come to mind when I read this story...

Shoulda stayed in Seattle...

Toe injuries and missing pennant races isn't bad luck as much as it is a "soft" mentality.

Yeah, because it's so easy to run when you have a broken big toe....

It's obvious this won't hurt his weight lifting regimine....

How many times can a guy get hurt?

He didn't break it and I played football with guys in high school that had turf toe and played. Griffey seperated his second toe (not the big one) and was listed as day to day. That was September 4th and he never returned even though they were in it until the last weekend. Also, he hasn't ran to first base in 3 years so what does running have to do with it. I've been a HUGE supporter of Griffey's and had countless arguements about his effort, training, and the injury battles he's had. I can't defend sitting in a pennant race because of a bad toe(not the big one). That's a joke.
