It's called supply and demand it's how our whole economy is set up, he will sell out those packages.

I never understood why some people think that these pro sports teams owe anything to their fans. They don't, it's a business. We love them like its more but trust me it's not.

I am not complaining in the sense that it is their right and they will get tickets sold to the Expos, Pirates, etc, by including it with the Opening Day series.

 

Just pointing out that for you to say that I am not a Reds fans because I am not buying Reds tickets for Opening Day because it is now in a package means that you must not realize the costs of raising a family instead of supporting the salaries of overpaid athletes.

 

Of course, I guess I could tell my son he can't be on that traveling baseball team or my daughter she can't play on the 7Up Golf Tour because I need to be buying Reds tickets so I can be a true Reds fan.

Most people don't really realize this until they have kids. Mine is only 11 months old, but I understand this point. I think the average family of 4 pays a little over $100 to go to a game. That's including tickets, parking, food, and souvineers. For a 10 game package, that's over a thousand dollars that I could use elsewhere for my family. Does that not make me a fan? I don't think so.

My wife and I took the day off two years ago so that we could experience an opening day with our kids. The parade, the game, (Go Joe Randa) all of the hoopla. A day just to experience everything with our family.

 

It saddens me that won't be possible for a lot of families now. But sports is a business and it is ONLY about making money. One championship year and winning the Series would be acceptable, but the owners won't lose money year after year just to win the title. It is about $$$$ and I understand that.

 

It is more important for them to chock their pockets full of money and that is the nature of our system. Until their demand no longer matches up with the supply and the system balances itself out again.

I bought the 8 game pack last season so I could go to opening day, no big deal considering it was about $100 and unless you are lucky you'll pay about that much for just opening day.

I believe that the game packs that include Opening Day will be sold first and if that sells out Opening Day then yes you won't get the chance to buy just Opening Day tickets. If it doesn't then you will.

A) Tickets you dont need to buy 4 tickets for all the games, just get two and split them up. And buy two more if you want to make a family event to a couple of the games.

B) Tank park and ride.

C) You can take drinks and food into the game.

D) Why do you need souvineers? At most they shouldnt cost more then 20 bucks.

It comes down to how much you want to spend. The tickets to the game are 20 bucks for pretty good seats. All the rest comes down to the family it is really not that expensive.

Guess my streak of 4 straight opening days may be coming to an end.

It's a business, true, but it's an entertainment business. They NEED us in order to survive. There is no NEED for us to go to Reds' games. We can survive life without it. However, we NEED a store like a Walmart, McDs, or Lazarus to provide us with the essentials to live. Therefore, the Reds' cannot do business in the same manner as one of these stores mentioned. .

 

I don't need Walmart because I can go to Target. I don't McDs because I can go to BK. I don't need Lazarus (now Macy's) because I can go to Dillard's.

 

However, if MLB is my goal, I have one choice.

My understanding is that there won't be any single game tickets for Opening Day. They will only come with a package.
