December 22, 200619 yr I know this is a stretch early, but his numbers are already unbelievable...add that to what postion he plays, which team he plays for, and exposure...does he have a chance? I say he can win if he averages above 18 ppg, and keep doing what he has been in regards to the other statistics....if Duke ends up around 24-7 or so, he wil be tough to overlook, I think his biggest competition is Oden. :lol: I wouldn't really consider 12 points and 7 rebounds a game "unbelievable"...

December 22, 200619 yr He handles the ball well, for a big man. Shoots the mid-range jumper and dribble penetrates, when bringing the ball up the floor. A lot of very good qualities.....but No, not the national player of the year. . I think he will probably trail TH from UNC in voting but I think this kid may fare better in the NBA.

December 22, 200619 yr ^ You have to look at his assists per game, steals per game, and blocked shots per game. 4 assists, 2.5 blocks and 1 steal per game. That's pretty good, but nothing spectacular. McRoberts is a good player, but to put him POY talk is a bit premature and undeserving.

December 26, 200619 yr In 2004 Duke's Chris Duhon was 1st Team All-American with the following stats... 10 ppg., 6.1 asst, 4.1 rebs Although it is early in the season, McRoberts makes just as much of a case as Duhon did, statistically speaking. Just depends on how people grade out all the "intangibles" and how much weight the name "Duke" carries (which is a lot).
