You can’t just replace two stars like Hudson and Bradley and expect to pick up where you left off. The Tomcats have some new  pieces this year and it’s taken some time for everyone one to adjust. Carter looks more comfortable every game. Hopefully by tournament time the Tomcats will be hitting on all cylinders just like they were last year.

Last year with Hudson and Bradley, Ashland had a team with five starters who could when needed  step up and score 20-25 points. If a defense attempted to shut down one or two of the five then Porter would put the ball in the hands of another player who picked up the scoring. You had to defend all five starters and Gillium could also put points on the board. And they were all good defenders. That chemistry is difficult to replace.

Really shocking W. Tomcats may finally be figuring out the chemistry to be a great team.

The Tomcats really put it together in this game. Led by 29 at one time.
Sellars was stellar!

I’ve said this all season. Hudson, who is now playing for Transylvania, and Bradley gave them a 5 headed monster last season, any of which could knock down 3’s and all could play defense. It’s taken a while but this team seems to be getting their chemistry of playing together and with confidence at just the right time. Carter and Marcum have come a long way since the opening game at Highlands.

Ashland looked amazing!great game. Have watched a couple games online. So much different than the Bowling a green game. They play really well together.

Agreed. Ashland took away the fast break rather well too. Noticed NL likes to leak out and get the break started. When Sellars nailed one, stole it, then nailed another in the first quarter you could tell it was going to be a long night.

Hard to start a fast break taking the ball out of the net.

Impressive win for Ashland!

Ashland was just way too balanced for N Laurel. Good game plan. Let Shepherd do what he wants, guard everyone else. He had 10 turnovers to 5 assists.

Not taking anything away from Ashland because they are a good team and played really good. But, do you think that NL was overlooking them to the Lexington Catholic game?

No, I think Ashland is the better team. As a neutral observer.
