December 17, 200619 yr My Dream would be for both coaches to remain where they are. Have teams in the top ten year in and year out. Then restart the old Big 4 Classic. Instead of IU and Notre Dame I would love us to play against UNC and Duke. Play it in Atlanta every year around Christmas. UK vs UNC and UL vs Duke one year then UK vs Duke and UL vs UNC the next. This would unite the Commonwealths basketball fans for a common goal.....beating the state of N.Carolina. Unfortunately neither program is ready for this at this point. To quote a great man "I have a dream...."
December 17, 200619 yr Unfortunately neither program is ready for this at this point. And another unfortunate circumstance....UL doesn't hate UNC and Duke like UK does...
December 17, 200619 yr And another unfortunate circumstance....UL doesn't hate UNC and Duke like UK does...  What does it have to do with hate. It would be a huge event, once UK and UL get things back in order. Getting to watch 4 schools with what 15? titles between them. Network TV would love it.

December 17, 200619 yr Gosh, UK getting to play Duke more than once a decade? Just imagine how heated their "rivalry" would be then …
December 17, 200619 yr That's a pretty good idea actually, and something that could possibly come to fruition at some point. It really has nothing to do with any "rivalries"; instead, it's some of the nation's top programs and most historic programs matching up against each other on a yearly basis. Kentucky's best vs. North Carolina's best - I like the thought, plus it would be a huge moneymaker. The only problem is this: who's going to break the news to HSSB that WKU isn't invited?
December 17, 200619 yr This would unite the Commonwealths basketball fans for a common goal.....beating the state of N.Carolina. Do you think the state of Carolina would unite for the common goal of beating the common wealth? I find it hard to believe that Duke fans would cheer for UNC fans and vice versa.
December 18, 200619 yr Author Do you think the state of Carolina would unite for the common goal of beating the common wealth? I find it hard to believe that Duke fans would cheer for UNC fans and vice versa. Probably not, but I do think that UK and UL fans would root for each other. As for UL not hating UNC or Duke, well they did not hate IU or Notre Dame either and that worked out pretty good in the Original Big 4. UL may not have a rivalry with these two schools but thier coach has a career loosing record to these two schools and I am sure he would like a chance for some payback.
December 18, 200619 yr It would be an awesome idea, IMO... :thumb: So do I Isn't it funny how the Lville fans want to joke about it.

I don't know why fans think you have to hate some team to play them. I really like when they had the Origianl Big Four playing. The state of KY vs. IN was a very fun series.
December 18, 200619 yr What's North Carolina State going to think when they're not invited to the party? They have two national titles under their belt.

December 18, 200619 yr What's North Carolina State going to think when they're not invited to the party? They have two national titles under their belt. Their still below UNC and Duke in titles and total wins. Besides you know that they are not one of our UK rivals.
