Breathitt Co has been awesome vs weakest district in the state, the best team they played was a very mediocre Pike Central team and they got drilled. This game will be over at halftime.

Not sure if any BC fans on here, but I can help you:

2A Titles in 1995, 1996, and 2002.

3A Runner-Up in 2008.

 

2003 they lost to Prestonsburg in the playoffs 19-7. Well after the fact Prestonsburg was deemed to have played an ineligible player during the entirety of the 2003 season so all of their 7 wins were forfeited.

 

Breathitt County Mount Rushmore:

- Mike Holcomb was their Head Coach during all their Championship Appearances and built that program into a statewide power. 

- Kyle Moore is the current Head Coach and a former star QB and has led them back from a very dark place. The Breathitt County School System had major academic issues and was basically put under external control. It coincided with the downturn of the coal economy as well so it forced Holcomb's retirement and many coaches to leave the school system from the feeder level up. 

- Waylon Chapman was the QB during Breathitt's 95 and 96 Championship teams. His father, John Chapman was the D-Coordinator and went on to be the Head Coach at Pikeville and Pike Central for a spell. His brother, Jonathan Chapman, was a standout RB for the Bobcats as an underclassmen and on his way to UK. When John left for Pikeville Jonathan went with him but tore his ACL.

- Justin Haddix was the gunslinging and fleet footed star QB of the 2002 Championship team. Haddix went on to play at WKU and then returned to be a Head Coach at Perry Central, Corbin, and now Boyle County. Haddix's younger brother Jade Haddix is an assistant and was a key part of of the 2006 Runner-Up team.

 

Honorable Mention:

John Rader- Was a monster on defense during that Mid-90's. Went to UK.

Channing Fugate- Monster of a RB who went on to play at Tennessee and put up monster stats during that 07 and 08.

From looking at the Bobcat's schedule, I'm guessing they haven't seen a team that can throw it all over the place like the Tigers can.  I'm guessing a running clock, but when (3rd or 4th quarter) will depend on whether or not Breathitt County can move the ball and eat up some clock in the first half and play some keep away from Hergott and the Tiger offense.

I thought I was going to watch the game in the comfort of my living room streamed on a Breathitt County service that carries all of the Bobcats games but just before the game started the owner announced that he was prohibited from streaming it. So I’m following updates on ole reliable BGP!
