My guess is because they want to be able to say they didn’t have to cancel any games, but this is beyond ridiculous at this point.

December 1, 20205 yr Author If this wasn't already strange enough just saw that this game time is at 3:40pm in the afternoon because NBC who is carrying the game have the Christmas at Rockefeller Center at 8:00pm. This just keeps getting sillier.
