To an extent, he's brought this on himself. Nutt combined the ingredients of a melodramatic cocktail that's now being stirred by the straw of teenage celebrity. When the inmates, have the perception they can run the asylum....problems like this happen......:scared: :lol: and for the record, we are not the same person.
December 14, 200619 yr You're freshman. Wait your turn. Why not utilize a back like McFadden when you have him? When he moves on to greener pastures (and he will eventually), THEN you have room to complain about the promises. And by "you", I mean the young men - the athletes. NOT their parents.
December 15, 200619 yr I see a lot of major problems with this type of thing. First, as mentioned previously, college football is not H.S. football. Moms and Dads really don't have a place in the realm of who plays/should play, etc. Any problems should be settled directly between the coach and player. This type of thing should NEVER be in the media, period. That being said, I understand where the kids are coming from a bit. They were lied to, flat out. And this is very common in the recruiting business. Tell them what they want to hear type of thing. And make no mistake about it, that's exactly what it is, a business. I see both sides. The coaches are doing what's best for the biz, and the kids/parents are looking out for their own interests. Nothing wrong with either IMO. But when you tell a kid he's going to start, or your going to run a certain type of offense or defense, or use him in a certain way, and those things don't happen then..............sometimes its just not a good fit.
