Sounds like it was a great game. Anyone have any stats ? Selby staying out of foul trouble is key to this Boyd teams success. Congrats to Elliot. This region is tight this year.

I thought this was a great win for Elliott Co. It showed the versatility and dept of this team.

Jon Ferguson led the Lions in scoring with 19 and Ethan Faulkner had 17 points and 6 rebounds. Blanton and Mayhew played well for Boyd Co.

Glad to see Elliott play Boyd's slowdown tempo(which everyone said would beat elliott) and still come up with the "W".

"JONATHAN" Ferguson did miss the last one of three, when he was fouled on the 3pt shot. Maynard missed one also. The twin's were 100% between them at 6-6.

Great win on the road for Elliott in a game played at a slower pace. That is the kind of game they have to learn to win and they seem to be doing it.

They give maximum effort in every aspect of the game.

Boyd did not score at will on the inside like a few stated they would. Greene for Elliott played great D & more than held his own against the "Human Eclipse" no matter if Elliott was playing man or zone. It was a good hard fought game. Ferguson did not have his normal outside shooting night but he did what most good players do when that happens "he took it to the whole". Elliotts D stepped up for them in this one.

Don't think I agree that Boyd "gift wrapped" it for Ellliott. After all, Elliott had the lead most the game (with the exception of the 3rd quarter).

 

 

I was impressed with both school...HOWEVER, do officials simply not call "walks" anymore? In my opinion both teams got away with multiple travels????

Spoke to a friend of mine that was at this game. He commented that a few plays looked funny and the crowd wanted a few walk calls. As he and I discussed, it isnt a walk just because it "looks funny". One play he mentioned was a player was basically trapped and was in danger of having the ball stolen, he fell on top of the ball between the two defenders and his coach called a time out. He pointed out that the player did NOT have control of the ball when he fell. I am sure everyone in the gym wanted a walk. Well atleast half the gym. Keep in mind, if a player does not have control of the ball he/she cannot walk.

Oh I must have missed one, but all in all they hit them well. I think it was 13-17. And that is with Maynard missing one, which isn't going to happen very many more times this season.

The above was quoted by striped shirt. If they fell and 'did not" have control of the ball how can boyd call and be awarded a time out??? and if awarded the time out (which they were) with "No one" in control of the ball whose possesion is it when time out is over

Wish the Elliott Co. young men would play close to Central Ky. The fans around here would love to watch them play. Would love to be at the 16th Regional Tourney this yr...ought to be a good one!!
