Elliott Co. 50 Boyd Co. 46

Recommended Posts

If you re read my post I said the player did not have control when he fell, therefore no walk could be called. I said he fell on top of the ball thereby gaining control.

I am only going by what I was told but if it happened as explained, no walk should have been called and a timeout could have been given when control was gained on the ground.

Don't think I agree that Boyd "gift wrapped" it for Ellliott. After all, Elliott had the lead most the game (with the exception of the 3rd quarter).

I was impressed with both school...HOWEVER, do officials simply not call "walks" anymore? In my opinion both teams got away with multiple travels????

And kicked balls either i thought it was funny when they missed the call and it lead to a wide open lay up for elliott coach Pratt stared down the ref while having his hand around his throat. (his own throat)

You can't point out one bad call, or no call in this sistutation and think of it as something that changed the game. Both teams got bad calls. The officals were consistent with both teams, just in a bad way.

Didn't mean to imply that at all, just thought that was funny. Every year everybody has games they look back and think they should have won,Boyd knows this was one of those games.

I didn't pick out any particular play. I found nothing wrong with the time-out....BUT the "walks" I refer to didn't just "look funny." They were legitimate walks.

A Boyd player held the ball to his hip and took a sold step. Two Elliott players stopped dribbling--but didn't stop moving--in the final minute of the game.

I understand that officiating is an ambigious profession--I just really hate to see the fundamental elements of the game (walks, double dribbles, carrying the ball, 3 seconds in the paint) all ignored.

I totally agree, but as long as they are consistent and the calls are going both ways, it is a little more tolerable.

I think Boyd learned tonight, and hopefully so did Selby, that they are a much better team with him in the lineup. He needs to stay away from the silly fouls like he committed against Elliott in order for BC to have success.

Wish the Elliott Co. young men would play close to Central Ky. The fans around here would love to watch them play. Would love to be at the 16th Regional Tourney this yr...ought to be a good one!!

To my understanding some in the Elliott circle have been talking to the coaching staff in regards to this for the past year or so. They definitely need to do this so the rest of the state can see them play. They are fun to watch and have the kids & style that others would enjoy especially the way they play so up hard & up tempo. They need to get these kids some exposure besides eastern ky.

Boyd did not score at will on the inside like a few stated they would. Greene for Elliott played great D & more than held his own against the "Human Eclipse" no matter if Elliott was playing man or zone. It was a good hard fought game. Ferguson did not have his normal outside shooting night but he did what most good players do when that happens "he took it to the whole". Elliotts D stepped up for them in this one.

It's hard to score at all setting on the bench in foul trouble, but that was his fault, If somebody told me he was going to set that much of the game i would have said elliott by 20.
