August 27, 20206 yr I was intrigued by an article in The Athletic this morning about players in the bubble dealing with mental issues. I hadn't really thought about it but it makes sense. They are obviously doing what they love (playing basketball), but they are away from family, away from community, away from almost any type of normalcy. Then when issues arise you feel stuck with no recourse and no way out. I'm a school teacher. I'm paid to do my job. However, I tried to imagine myself teaching school all day, then going somewhere else in the school building to sleep, then getting up tomorrow and doing it again. I can see how that would be mentally taxing no matter your salary and no matter your place in life.

Being locked down for a long period of time is not fun no matter the circumstances and I have wondered if some of the players were looking for a way out.

The push to even have the bubble, from what I surmised, was from LeBron's camp as he has a lot to gain by winning another title. Many players were dissatisfied heading to Orlando and have conveyed they continue to be dissatisfied. They have as cushy of a setup as you can get, but it would quickly get old.

There is another meeting at 11:00 in the morning. This was not an official vote by them, to be clear.
August 27, 20206 yr It now looks like after the follow up meeting today at 11:00am the players have decided to continue the playoffs. While there will be no games today it does look like they will resume as early as tomorrow (Friday).
August 31, 20206 yr Jamal Murray from U.K. and Donovan Mitchell from Louisville have absolutely been putting on a show against each other in their series. Both players have had two games over 50 points and at least 3 games with 40 points. Jamal Murray in the last 3 games is averaging 47 points per game. It has been a blast watching these two play in this series. It will also now be going to a game 7!
