Excess Heat maybe on the way

Featured Replies

Kentucky may be looking at its first heat wave of the summer next week. The Climate Prediction Center's 8-14 day temperature outlook is showing Kentucky may see some temps above 90 degrees July 9-12. The GFS model is showing this well. The same period there is not much rain expected.  I will post updates as we get closer.

I know right, I can only imagine how good your ride is looking.

It's filthy right now.

It won't be in a couple hours. ?

Mine is looking good but it is silver so it always looks pretty good.

We’ve honestly had a not bad run so far this year in terms of heat - at least I feel it’s been serviceable. A shame to get a heat wave but we’re due.

Neighborhood announced the pool is opening tomorrow with a lot of restrictions including no furniture on sight, but you can bring your own.  Hoping it's able to stay open and not get shut down quickly.

We could see widespread triple digit heat indices by Sunday 7/12/2020.

4th of July weekend with a wild heat wave rolling in.  Could make for a crazy weekend, hopefully the day drinkers stay hydrated.

I agree. We have been lucky. For weeks, it felt like Colorado weather.

Yes I’ve looked ahead and it appears to be a hot weekend on the 11th.

BTW, today is pretty sticky.

This shows the possible heat index for Monday July 13. Next is the Climate Prediction Center's probable excessive heat outlook 8-14 days out.mon.thumb.png.2d84d556483af703610b41e1b57fd964.pngtemp_probhazards_d8_14_contours.thumb.png.7c9a620174d40c9c65950cfe3c5eb122.png

Right on que, I get home today and the AC is acting up.  Temp was about 5 degrees higher than what it was set at.
