July 3, 20206 yr Author Here's the Friday evening update for next weekend's heat hazardous risk. This now appears to be extended till the 17th of July. These are new maps that I will be using in the future for all weather related posts.
July 5, 20206 yr Author Just looked at the possible heat index through next weekend. If these numbers hold true western Kentucky will be like an oven for a few days. Then the possible triple digit heat indices will move west of I-65 starting on Sunday. Those west of I-65 could see a heat index around 115 degrees Saturday afternoon. There is a possibility of some showers east of I-65 that could hold the temps down on Saturday. They will stay in the range on Sunday but the triple digits will move eastward. Monday looks to be possibly the worst day for everyone so far. That afternoon heat index for Monday afternoon look to range from around 105-115 for most of the state. If these numbers hold up I look for a heat watch to be issued by the end of the upcoming work week.
