Madison Central football player Emanuel Prewitt missing on Lake Herrington.

Featured Replies

Madison Central defensive back Emanuel "Manny" Prewitt (Class of 2021) was swimming at Lake Herrington near Coffey's Cove Marina in Boyle County on Wednesday afternoon with friends when he became "separated from the group".

Authorities searched for approximately 6 hours before calling off the search at 9:30pm. The search will resume on Thursday morning at 8:30am.

You certainly have to pray and hope for the best, but this sounds likely to be a very sad outcome...

Prayers for him and his family.

That is not good, and likely a tragic situation. Very sad.

WLEX is reporting that Boyle County rescue officials are now calling this a "recovery" operation and not a rescue operation.

So very sad. Seems like every summer we have a high school student-athlete drown in Kentucky.

As a parent, I cannot imagine a worse fear. Prayers need to go out to the family and friends of this young man.

They were still searching as of Saturday, with the assistance of a specialized underwater recovery crew from Tennessee. It sounds like an all-around difficult situation for a recovery because of the lake's depth, minimal water visibility, and an extremely craggy and uneven lake bed.

Prayers to his family. Couldn’t even imagine what they are going through.
