Wireman
I guess we'll go ahead and leave Greenup in the top 5 for now.
Red Shift
Good win for the Devils after a long week of basketball. Nonetheless, they have a lot of work to do if they want to repeat as 16th Region champs. Russell looked good early, leading by about 10 at half time, but won on a pair of free-throws after the buzzer. VanHoose was held to less than 20. lionfan13
What happened? I wasn't there but I bet it had to involved some article of clothing being thrown by Coach Hicks. Man I would hate to see his dry-cleaning bill.

Russelldad
Bad call by the officials at the buzzer... What was all the comotion after the game with the fan and Coach Hicks???? don't know about the fan and Coach hicks, but the commotion came down to the clock and a the ball. Russell, got off the last shot of regulation with the score tied, the shot was missed, a Russell player (Gill or Robinson) put up a rebound attempt that lodged between the goal and the rim. Then either Robinson went and knocked it down and put up another shot or the ball dislodged on it's own and he put up the shot. Either way, I believe Hicks was arguing that a ball stuck like that should be a dead ball and posession awarded to the defense (Greenup). Also, by the time the 3rd shot by Robinson went up and he was fouled, I thought the clock had run out, but because of all the noise in the place noone could hear it including the officials. On the stuck ball, I may be wrong, but I believe he has an argument, but someone will have to help me on it
shooterx3
This game stayed at double digits for Russell for most of the game, then they started making dumb fouls 50-90 feet away from the basket , and gave Greenup County the bonus fairly early in the 3rd quarter, then they did their usual missed free throw thing, and Travis Wright hit some big baskets for Greenup. The end of the game had two of the strangest calls that offset each other. The first call, Travis Wright slipped and fell at the top of the key as he tried to make a move,Russell threw it out to Marcus Frazier for a wide open layup and the ball game, but the referree said Austin Blair fouled Wright for his 5th foul. . (both players after the game said there was no contact, he just fell) Then Wright sinks two pressure free throws to tie the game with about 12 seconds to play, Russell gets it down the floor, Frazier misses a three, Gill misses a put back, and Robinson follows Gills miss and the same referee called a foul. Now that was probally a foul, but you usually don't get that call in that situation. It may or may not have been a makeup call for the first call, but with no time on the clock, Austin Robinson calmy goes to the line and sinks two free throws, I think they offered to put a couple of ticks on the clock and let Greenup inbounds it but Hicks had a few choice words and walked off the floor and that was the ball game. Greenup did a good job on team defense, Tyler Wright did a good job face guarding Van Hoose all night. Russell is doing their usual slow start, with the difference being, this team is much better so they can make a lot of mistakes and still win. Look for them to make their usual improvement and be "scary" come March. At that point , I may be willing to issue an OFFICIAL WARNING:scared:
