IMO, Russell has the best talent in the region & play to many close games considering that talent. Against Elliott last week if they would have pushed the tempo & pressured the ball more in the quarter (I believe it was the 2nd) when Elliott played mostly four subs they could have blown it open. They allowed Elliott to stay in the game at that point. Just my opinion. Oh yeah, and the other 2 people setting beside me

Remember, its December and its Russell, people think because Russell is 4-0 it s different this year, its not any different, they are making the same stupid mistakes they always make in December, in years past , it got them beat, they are just that much better this year, but the bottom line is, they won't be making the same stupid fouls and missing all the free throws when it counts in March- could be scary:scared:

Well, I wasn't sitting beside you but I totally agree. Push the tempo and don't let a team have a chance to come back. Same thing happened Friday.

don't know about the fan and Coach hicks, but the commotion came down to the clock and a the ball. Russell, got off the last shot of regulation with the score tied, the shot was missed, a Russell player (Gill or Robinson) put up a rebound attempt that lodged between the goal and the rim. Then either Robinson went and knocked it down and put up another shot or the ball dislodged on it's own and he put up the shot. Either way, I believe Hicks was arguing that a ball stuck like that should be a dead ball and posession awarded to the defense (Greenup). Also, by the time the 3rd shot by Robinson went up and he was fouled, I thought the clock had run out, but because of all the noise in the place noone could hear it including the officials.

 

On the stuck ball, I may be wrong, but I believe he has an argument, but someone will have to help me on it

 

Hicks was not arguing about the ball being stuck, he was arguing that time had run out. I don't think the ball got stuck anyway, I think it just kinda stalled for a split second but Hicks never even mentioned that. He was just arguing, or screaming for that matter, about the time. First he argued that the foul occurred after the horn sounded and then after he lossed that argument he argued that if the foul occurred before the buzzer that time should have been put back on the clock. I was at the table and heard every word. I didn't see anything happen with Hicks and a fan though. If something did happen, it happened while he was exiting the court toward the lockerroom. I will state that Hicks walked right past Dodd and the Russell players and did not shake hands with any of them. They all had their hands out but he walked right on by without so much as a nod.

I think the fan's as well need to grow up. Ive been to games were grown adults will yell and taunt a player. My gosh, these players are just kids. I dont blame coach hicks a bit for taking up for his players. If a adult is yelling at the Greenup team and making personal remarks than they need to be delt with. This is stupid, i dont think people should be able to get on here and post cruel comments about other individuals, but they do. This sight should be about positive stuff, but no, nothing ever positive ever comes from the members of this sight. Just about all members on this sight are jealous individuals, who couldnt make it playing sports themseves in high school, or who's child stinks at sports. GET A LIFE!

 

 

Wow. Where did this come from? Maybe you should not log on if you feel this way. Sure, there are a few posters on here who are quite negative sometimes but to stereotype us all is wrong. You've just become the very thing you condenmed in your above post. Congrats!!!
