HHSDad
Slick marketing and the right politically savvy moves can overcome a weak record in the eyes of many, many uninformed and don't care voters. Moreso, they want someone to be excited about rather than convinced they have the seasoning to do the job. Barack vs. Hillary should be interesting. Hillary with Barack as VP or vice versa would be interesting and potentially very motivating to Democrats. If the political heads can market two goofs like Bush and Kerry, then they could probably get a penguin and a rattlesnake on the ballot.

Good example to make my point. Thanks.
cshs81
How much does his experience level count? Considering that the more experience in the Senate kills the chances of all Senators running, wouldn't the converse be true for someone with some but not a lot of experience? Frances Bavier
I think that serving as a Governor is probably better preparation (in many ways) than serving in the Senate. The one huge advantage of serving in Congress is that a candidate learns how the political games are played on Capitol Hill. Frances

I would also add that a Senator gets more exposure to foreign policy issues than your typical Governor.

AHSPanther23
It is a middle name, it does not make much difference. His name, Barak Hussien Obama, IMO would not affect him that much. Now if his middle name was Osama, that would be even odder. Barak Osama Obama....
shooter
Unless you're in a Southwestern state. Foreign policy encompasses more than illegal immigration and other border related concerns.
shooter
Getting back to Obama..... Did anyone see or hear this quote from him: "Are some voters not going to vote for me because I’m African-American? Those are the same voters who probably wouldn’t vote for me because of my politics,” As someone who probably wouldn't vote for him because of his politics, I find his remark offensive.
