4 Quarters
So if someone makes good grades in high school, you don't think they deserve an academic scholarship? Some academic scholly help, yes, a free no.
theguru
Please elaborate. It is the Government picking and choosing using our tax dollars.
4 Quarters
So then do you also believe that college athletes shouldn't receive scholarships? We'll save this topic for another day.
4 Quarters
Do you want all your tax dollars to be spent on just the things you want? Should some of "your" tax dollars go to things that benefit the country as a whole and make this an even better country for more people? No, the things I want I will purchase out of my pocket. 4 Quarters
Should people also have to pay for elementary, middle, and high school? I thought we pretty well did.
4 Quarters
So if you've done well in high school, gotten good grades, and been a model citizen, it's just too bad if you were born into a family that can't afford to pay for college. That should help break the cycle of poverty. Your living in a dream world.
PurplePride92
Taxation is a scam. Period. Once you realize this your focus should change on how do we eliminate taxes. The government WILL NEVER use your tax money properly so whining about how they spend your tax dollar is pointless unless you are ready for a revolution. Holler at your boy when you’re ready. I’ve been waiting.........
TheDeuce
It is the Government picking and choosing using our tax dollars. They already do that. Do you think they shouldn't do that at all, or just in this specific instance?
TheDeuce
I thought we pretty well did. I mean the students. You don't think people should be able to go to college free. Why should they be able to go to elementary school free?
TheDeuce
No, the things I want I will purchase out of my pocket. Are you going to pay to fix the roads you drive on yourself, or do you want my tax dollars to help with that?
4 Quarters
Are you going to pay to fix the roads you drive on yourself, or do you want my tax dollars to help with that? Maybe I don't drive. I'm never said a thing about roads, we were talking about free rides to college.

PP1
I am still paying off my loans I had to take out in order to graduate from NKU in 2006.
TheDeuce
Maybe I don't drive. I'm never said a thing about roads, we were talking about free rides to college. Even if you don't drive, you use the roads. My point is you benefit from other peoples tax dollars, but you have a problem with your tax dollars helping pay for deserving students continuing education. You don't "deserve" others tax dollars, but I bet you use them.
theguru
I mean the students. You don't think people should be able to go to college free. Why should they be able to go to elementary school free? Because the Government forces us to send our children to elementary school.
