December 7, 200619 yr I used to be a fan of Bobby Knight, but the more I think about it, I wish he were not passing The Baron or Smith. He is just an insecure bully stuck in the middle of nowhere passing a record. I have comfort knowing good men like Coach K will someday pass him (not that Rupp was citizen of the year).
December 7, 200619 yr Rupp has been passed by 2 great coaches. But he held the record for a long time. Rupp would not have been passed if they would have allowed him to keep coaching I don't believe. Hes so underrated as a coach and I believe has gotten such a bad rap that is not at all deserved.
December 7, 200619 yr I would rather have Bobby Knight as the all time leader than Dean Smith. I think he's won more games with less talent than Smith. Of course his recruiting is limited due to his style of coaching. I think he and the players know they had better be hard nosed and thick skinned to play for Knight. Some of the stuff he does is overboard, but then again he says things other coaches wish they could. I've seen him in press confereces get asked the same stupid question 3 or 4 times and that's normally when he goes ballistic. Let's be honest during the Dale Brown era who wouldn't have wanted to stuff an LSU fan in a garbage can.

Hes either doing something great that is right and commendable or doing something that is honestly flatout wrong.
