January 27, 20206 yr How many of the remaining are when they catch the ball and shuffle their feet before their drive? Drives me nuts haha! I watch my grandson's middle school games and wonder who is teaching these kids fundamentals. It appears nobody is.
January 27, 20206 yr I watch my grandson's middle school games and wonder who is teaching these kids fundamentals. It appears nobody is. I helped with my son's team when he was in 6th grade. I was working with our "Bigs" on footwork, getting position and drop steps. Coach told me that we didn't have time for that, all he wanted the big guys to do was rebound and kick it back out to the guards.
January 27, 20206 yr My only major concern (still lots of positives) is the number of just completely unforced turnovers. Just way too many and the announcers even keyed on it last night. Really gotta cut that down. Yes and that they're usually by our guards carrying, dribbling of their own legs, stepping out of bounds, or my favorite simply forgetting to dribble while moving with the ball.

Excuse the slight tangent, but what gets me in NCAA and NBA basketball is no call when the shuffling of the feet occurs after, not before, a 3-point shooter receives a pass as he is preparing to shoot. IMO a very overlooked offense.
