Here's a question for you: Ask the Trinity players what they care more about...having a Championship Ring on their fingers or being #1 in a final poll that really doesnt mean anything? Hmmm...gonna have think real long and hard about that one

They are probably better than that, but played a schedule in the bottom half of the state in terms of difficulty. Tough to move up in a computer poll unless you play some tough teams.

If they played tomorrow, would you be shocked if Male won? Male was 3 yards away from beating Trinity. And their other wins are very impressive. Is it that surprising Male would be rated above Trinity?

 

What ifs don't count. Remember Trinity had a game ending field goal go 2 yards to the right or they would have been undefeated. ROCKS win in head to head matchup. That's what counts.

It is not a poll. It is a statistical ranking.

 

And just because one team is ranked ahead of another it does not mean that Team A is going to beat Team B 100% of the time.

 

One of the neater functions of the Massey predictions is the percentage probability of victory. Team A can be ranked #1 and Team B can be ranked #5 but Team A might only have a 55% probability of winning.

 

Likewise Team C can be ranked #10 but may have an 85% probability of beating Team D ranked #15.
