I would think this would benefit St. X. This helps equalize Male’s speed, in my opinion. What do you all think?

In years past I would say this would be a huge advantage for St. X, but now on offense with their spread style of play and Male being a more physical offense I tend to think it might benefit Male from a style of play perspective. But for sure slows down Male; conditions could be similar to when they met in the regular season last year.

Like many games, a deciding factor will come down the the production of the QBs. Male seems to have more a the "game manager" QB; hand it off, quick passes to Cummins in the flat, and then take a shot when the defensive secondary over plays the run. He's not the most accurate of passers and when he's in predictable passing situations seems to stare down his receivers. But when you have to two big WRs like Male, you don't have to be as accurate because they'll help him out.

 

For St. X, Bodhaine in some cases makes or breaks the offense. He must make smart decisions throwing the ball and with his feet, because he can run a little bit it adds another dimension Male's defense must account for. In the first meeting, Bodhaine didn't play very well, but he did respond with two good scoring drives in the 2nd quarter. If you want to know how the game turns out look at Bodhaine's stats and that will probably be a good indication.

I think this is a tough match-up for my Tigers with Male's size and speed at receiver. A bad field may neutralize some of this. Still will take their best effort to date.

Any injuries for either team?

Weather won't help X as we tend to try and go for "home run" ball vs easier completions. IMO that makes is tough on our QB. We never throw easy TE routes to keep LB's honest, drives me nuts!

I learned St.X LB Kenneth “Hale” Bohler has been offered preferred walk on spot at University of Louisville. Recently UofL defensive coordinator Bryan Brown went over to school and offered him. He tweeted it on 10/28 but this first I heard about it. Congrats to Him!

Can St. X control the interior of the LOS? Outside the obvious outstanding skill players Male has, be sure to check out the LOS too. Male's Guard, Center, Guard are big and can move, and their DT's look like bowling balls; they're compact and explosive. Something to keep an eye on.

 

St. X will probably get Mekhi Smith involved in every way imaginable; he's they're home run threat and can be a game changer. Also, Dudey for St. X has shown to be a huge weapon the last half of the season; he's a great compliment to Smith on the outside.

Yeah, Hopefully JCPS will invest into some turf fields which they are looking at doing.

I ran a power rating experiment. Used 6 different ratings. Did it for whole season, last 5 games, and teams with winning record only. Used Calpreps for strength of schedule for 3 with margin of victory. I also did 3 with avg margin of victory for strength of schedule and team margin of victory for the same 3 metrics above.
