Bowling Green 20 South Warren 13

Featured Replies

Bowling Green made all kinds of mistakes and they made some HUGE ones in the worst possible time. BUT, getting the win during playoff time is the only things that matters.

They were able to overcome some bonehead mistakes, played hard and didn't panic to pull out the win. Great job Purples!

Props go out to Vito Tisdale. He made a major mistake that very well could have cost BG the game. But he stepped up huge and bailed the Purples out a few times just on his own effort. So great job by Tisdale on defense and offense. He stepped up big time.

And really props to the whole team and coaching staff. They found away to overcome the mistakes and get it done.

Both teams made major mistakes and turnovers at the worst possible times.

IE one of BG scores was after south turned the ball over on a botched punt snap that set BG up.

One of Souths scores comes off a botched punt snap that gave south the ball on the 13 and allowed them to tie the game with 2 minutes to go.

Both Teams tried multiple times to give the game away. Both teams played hard and BG capitalizes after the squib kick that set them up on the 46 of south with 2 minutes to go. They dug deep and drove it in for the win.

Even with the mistakes on both sides neither team gave up and gave us a classic game.

What a ball game! Great rivalry game!

So many things to talk about. The guys above are all spot on. For me, original QB Caden Veltcamp appearance was more to pump up South Warren than hurt the Purples. I felt going in that it was a lot to ask to come back from that type injury and play in this game right out of the gate. He tries hard but really wasn’t effective throwing down the field but to his credit didn’t hurt his team with turn overs.

Finally, Finally after 11.5 games we finally get one where Vito Tisdale gets to play a key role in the offense when BG has to have it. A couple of this first down runs he just gutted it out. Awesome performance.

Conner Cooper was really good for the Purples when it mattered and those QB runs were big!

Both teams had chances at some big INTs that just didn’t happen that ultimately saw the other continue down and score on.

Terrific season for South Warren.

For the Purples, on to South Oldham !

Tisdale is the man. The purples know how to win big games. It’s in their DNA. I believe they will beat South Oldham behind their Defense. RPI means nothing now. The purples 2 in-state losses were to StX and Trinity. They walloped McCracken and have beat SW twice.

Watched about the last 5-6 minutes online and man BG have SW a lot of opportunities to potentially win the game. Give BG credit, after SW tied it they made big plays to drive down and convert the game winning touchdown. Survive and advance.

Good win for BG! I didn’t think they could do it if Veltkamp played. Good luck to the Purples the rest of the way!!!

Big win for the Purples as they have heard all year about the “new sheriff in town”. Great programs find a way. Congrats BG!
