Who wins this 2A Top 10 showdown and district matchup? Beechwood comes into this matchup at 3-4 on the season. Lloyd Memorial comes in at 5-2 on the season.

This should be a whale of a game. I don’t know much about Beechwood this year but let’s face it, it’s Beechwood. I’m sticking with my Juggs. I’m sure you guys already knew that.

Season on the line for both teams. This should be a low scoring game. Lloyd has big play threats. The Beechwood mantra this season is true again in this one. Can their offense produce enough to win? I will go with a little higher score than might be expected, Beechwood 24 Lloyd 14.

I expect this to be a great game. I have to lean a little on the battle tested Beechies but think the outcome could hinge on one big play (pick 6, missed extra point, goal line stand, etc.).

 

Beechwood and their coaching staff have been in more of these games giving them my slight edge.

Loser has a more difficult path all the way through the playoffs. Loser faces a harsh reality of their post season prospects. For Beechwood, this game likely determines whether they will end the regular season with a .500 or better record. Obviously there is still some opportunity to recover for the loser after this game, but a loss is a huge blow to the loser of this game.

This is the battle for District IMO. Great matchup for Friday.

Beechwood’s Defense has gotten better and better as the year has gone on. They may bend a bit but they play tough with their backs against the wall. Their offense has always been the question. Cam Hergott is the key to this game, if he can keep the Beechwood offense moving and keep Lloyd’s offense on the sideline it greatly increases Beechwood’s chances. This game was usually played very early in the year and if it were played around that time I would have given the edge to Lloyd but Beechwood has grown as they have gone through this season and I favor them now.

Gonna be a tough matchup for Beechwood defensive backs against Cody, Alexander, and Crim. I’m going with the Tigers in a close one, but if those DB’s can’t contain Lloyd’s experienced/speedy trio of receivers, it could swing Lloyd’s way quickly and decisively.

Dakota Theil will be one of the best running backs Beechwood has faced this year. Lloyd has a very solid team with several playmakers. Hopefully Beechwood's strong schedule pays off tonight. This should be a good game.
