November 30, 200619 yr I will support them if they go 19-11 every year. Last night I saw IU and Duke play INCREDIBLE basketball. The intensity was off the charts. Tonight Ohio State (of all people) and UNC looks like giants. Can Kentucky regain their place atop the ranks? Or will the program stagnate as a "good" but top 20ish program under the current coach?
November 30, 200619 yr I think they are back on track....This year may be a little up and down, but I think they'll be a top 20 team this year. As long as Morris comes back next year, this team will be a legit top 5-10 team next season. FWIW, I too will continue to support the Cats regardless of their record.
November 30, 200619 yr Author I guess I should make clear my statement about IU and Duke. IU played the same 7 guys the entire game. I watched every minute because I lifted and then put in 75 minutes on the elliptical and finished it out. DJ White and the IU players were asked to literally DIE on the floor against Duke. I was VERY impressed by the little guy from IU, Cerrello? It was an effort I haven't seen from UK yet. I hope I do. I want to see Perry, Morris and Co literally dying for a break because they are giving it all. THAT is why I though Duke v IU was a great game.
November 30, 200619 yr :thumb: I will suppport the Wildcats no matter what ( that is what TRUE Big Blue fans do)! I agree with UKMustang in that this team will be much better as the season goes on and our talented freshmen get more adjusted to the college game. Imo U.K. is not as far off as some would believe.

No doubt in my mind they would be there with Duke and IU.
November 30, 200619 yr Duke wasn't typical, in my opinion. You are right, Oh No!!! Fire Coach K. (sorry, couldn't resist that one.)

November 30, 200619 yr Author When was the last time you saw an opposing coach hug a crying kid on the floor like Coach K did the other night? Look, I am FAR from a Duke fan, but IMO it speaks more to the effort of IU. I would only hope that if Duke barely knocked us off, Coach K was walk over to our boys (who are nearly dead from effort) and tell them they should be proud!

He's already done that once, back in 92 he addressed the entire UK team in the locker room after the game. After all the scars from that one I'd prefer we don't give him the chance again, I'd much rather see Tubby consoling the dUKe players
November 30, 200619 yr I will always support the 'Cats. But I do have to say, I just don't feel too enthused over this year's team.
November 30, 200619 yr The love and passion from UK fans will always be there. Going into Rupps Civic Center, you always see a see of blue. Always see the fans cheering, that won't change. But the talent level has changed. We are constantly getting guys would be bench players on other SEC teams, and some guys who would start at MAC schools. It's now at the point, that if we don't land Patterson, or Patterson and Lucas. UK is going to be hurting next few years badly.
November 30, 200619 yr I will always support my Cats, but the level of performance this year is down tremendously from traditional UK standards. Not being a top 25 team at this point, and not playing like one. We will build off some wins and have a good year IMO, but I think we will see ugly games vs the likes of North Carolina, Louisville, Florida, and perhaps even LSU. I'm hoping we can get a win in some of these, however, Kentucky basketball is no longer on the same level as these programs, and that is sad. Although we may have a good chance at the IU and UL games, the other three mentioned will be tough I think. Hopefully the Cats can prove me wrong and as well as the rest of the country and pull out a win against a UNC or Florida. A win like that would get our program back in the right direction, but so far were not showing that we are still on that level to play with those guys.
