A statement in two directions.

DeSales flexes their muscles as a deserving #1, Paducah Tilghman is weighed, measured, and found wanting.

Ooof. That’s gonna leave a mark.

Ouch!

Can't say I didn't see it coming. Was hoping for a different outcome but was almost sure of how this one was going to turn out. Either way Tilghman has just got to move on and get better each week.

Same as it ever was.

I'm not as disappointed as I normally would be after this one. Way too many crazy sequences that helped define this final outcome.

DeSales defense against the run is very, very good. A team with a better passing game than Tilghman can have some success throwing the ball.

DeSales is big, phyisical and fast and are the favorites in 3A for sure in my mind, but there's still a lot of season to go.

Good luck the rest of the way Colts!

The good thing for Tilghman is they are the heavy favorite to win their district. They've got time to make adjustments and improvements. Getting a taste of the best team in 3A might pay dividends going forward.

I agree 100%.

I know our front 7 on Defense is very good and is a major part of our suscess this season. Hope its there next week against crosstown rival CAL.

Wow. I hope Tilghman’s kingdom doesn’t get divided and given to the Medes and the Persians...

I said I was surprised by how many people was picking PT I just felt like this wouldn’t be a good matchup for a running team if you’re going to beat Desales you better be able to throw the ball.

Desales has the most impressive run defense I’ve seen in years... not sure how well they defend the pass because PT passing game is non existent... but I was very impressed with them on both sides of the ball. They will be hard to beat in 3A this year.

Same here. The only run defense comparable to what I saw last night was that 2013 South Warren group that if I remember correctly only gave up maybe 40 or 50 yards during the whole regular season.

Looking at the total yardage for both teams it was pretty close. Desales had 270 total yards and PT had 238 total yards so only 32 total yards difference between the teams. Did PT get their yardage against Desales 1st or 2nd team? I was expecting to see a bigger discrepancy in total yards. 49 points is a lot for just 270 yards of total offense.

Tilghman had a bad punt at their own end, DeSales picked off a pass returned to the Tilghman 2 and had 3 other possessions with outstanding field position. They didn't have to go very far to get the scores.

Tilghman was able to move the ball in the air, just didn't throw it nearly enough and aren't accurate on a lot of open throws. They should have put it in the air 40+ times because they are definitely taking the run away.
