SvFan4life
I'm shocked to see this, even if it is a down year. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2677822

SvFan4life
Wow... Exactly what i was thinking. I'm even thinking they could have got something for him. I mean even just a little something. But to just release him is crazy. What were the Cowboys thinking?
Hangman
From like... the most accurate kicker in history... to... released. Surprised they didn't stick it out with him a little longer, but he wasn't doing anything special... Any other K who has played like Mike this year probably would've been released a little sooner. But to just release him is crazy. What were the Cowboys thinking? Got something for a horrible kicker who calls out his QB and coach? No, they wouldn't have gotten $5 out of him. I think it was the right move, he had no confidence what so ever.

Yeah I don't think he has much confidence in his self anymore because of that blown kick last year.
Booge
Looks like $4.3MM for 11 games and 13 field goals??? And he was reluctant to handle kickoffs. Nice gig. Who called him "idiot kicker" anyway???

Pat Dad
Vanderjagt will find another team. He needs a team who's coach will give him some confidence and/or let him build that confidence. He's a great kicker, he just needs a chance to overcome those demons he has right now.

NEERFAN
Hard to believe it took this long, Parcells wanted to cut him during training camp and he hadn't attempted a kick yet.

Dealing with the psyche of an NFL kicker, must be approached with supreme confidence....His appears gone.
threetimelover
Its impossible to hear his name without hearing a voice in my head say "liquored up idiot kicker." He should put that on his tombstone!
