Actually there is nothing negative about the kids in that quote. It is negative about the circumstances and toward some of the Mercer fans. But there is not one negative word in there about the players or coaches at Mercer Co.

I for one am wishing Mercer County good luck.

 

I think that everything about the merge that happened in Mercer County was crooked and dirty, but that all goes to the higher ups (Superintendant and School board). How do you merge teams, but not schools, that is a joke.

 

But, I think the coaching staff and the players/fans deserve a congratulations on doing what was expected of them. I know that anything less than a state championship appearance would've been a dissappointment, and that is a shame, but that is the way it is around this area. Mercer, you did it, congratulations and good luck on the carpet. The boys and the coaches deserve all the glory, they did what was expected of them and never looked back. Way to pull it together. Mercer fans here is my advice to you, for one try to not get so mad. You have an advantage nad that is obvious but its not your fault or the kids fault. Sometimes in life you have an advantage and when you do people is going to get mad. You have to simply take what life has given you and play it to its full advantage. I feel Mercer has done that, so take what you did be proud of it and dont let people get under your skin because it will drive you crazy. I use to get so mad when ppl griped about WV kids comming to Belfry. You know what they do at times, do we recruit them? No. Did we win 2 state championships because of it? Most defintley. But what we did was take the advantage we had and made the most of it just like you guys are doing.

So remember this no matter what anyone says dont get so mad so easily because you guys are int he championship which is were every team other than the final 8 wanted to be, including my Belfry. You guys do have an advantage, no denying it. But its not the students or fans fault. I know no matter what class you guys play in this year and even if you was to loose Friday I will still look at this team as a GREAT team.

If you think their Board of Ed is bad for having done what they did, fine. But do you have to say it over and over, on multiple threads? On the Harrodsburg Influence thread, on the 2A Championship thread and on the Mercer Co defense thread (come on!)? Talk about sounding childish.

 

What I will dislike most, is that if Mercer wins Friday, someone one (or multiple someones) will say that a 3A team won the 2A championship. If they lose, they'll say that a 3A team should have beat the 2A team.

 

We really need to take an over/under on how many posts before this happens to the "Final" thread.

I doubt it will be a problem. I know the d-coordinator really well and he knows the wing-t inside and out. I think Russell will have a hard time running the ball so much so that they will have to resort to their passing game. JMO, so Russell guys don't get all bent out of shape. Larue's primary offense is wing-T. They switched out of it to a power-I, then back to wing-T, then to a spread trying to get something going. I think they had 67 total yards in the first half. I don't know the exact stats, somewhere around 210 total yards about 90 rushing. A bunch came in 4th against JV D.
