Using the BCS rules....

Of the 10 BCS positions available, 6 are taken by the automatic bids of the ACC, Big East, Big 10, Big 12, PAC 10, and Southeastern conferences. That leaves 4.

Notre Dame currently qualifies for an automatic bid by being within the top 8 in the BCS Standings. That leaves 3.

Boise State qualifies for an automatic bid by being in the BCS top 12 and by being ranked higher than any ACC team. Now there is 2.

Michigan automatically gets a BCS bid unless they drop to 5th in the rankings. Championship game or not. That leaves 1 spot for an at-large bid.

If Michigan and Ohio State play in the National Championship game, does the Big 10 get 3 bids? Possibly. The Sugar, Orange, and Fiesta bowls will have to chose from the Big East winner, ND, Boise State, and that lone at-large team. The Sugar will probably take ND, since they had the Big East winner last year. The Orange Bowl will take the Big East Champ, leaving the Fiesta to take Boise State or this at-large team. I look for them to take Boise State (somehow I think they travel well). Now what does the Rose Bowl do? Do you think the Rose Bowl will take a team from the SEC over one from the Big 12? SC vs Texas or SC vs LSU? Hmmmmmmmm........

Big 10 won't get 3 bids, as Wisconsin has already accepted a Capital One bowl bid.

USC is going to be playing for the title, and Michigan in the Rose Bowl.....No way does a 3 loss Texas team get a bid over LSU, Florida, Arkansas, or even Auburn with 2 losses.

BCS Championship:

Ohio State (12-0, BigTen Champ) vs. Southern California (11-1, Pac10-Champ)

Rose Bowl:

Michigan (11-1, At-large#1) vs. LSU (10-2, At-Large#3)

Fiesta Bowl:

Oklahoma (11-2, Big 12 Champ) vs. Boise State (12-0, At-Large#2)

Orange Bowl:

Georgia Tech (10-3, ACC Champ) vs. Louisville (11-1, At-Large#4)

Sugar Bowl:

Florida (12-1, SEC Champ) vs. Rutgers (11-1, BEast Champ)

If Notre Dame doesn't start playing and do it fast they are going to play their way out of the BCS and open the door for the Louisville Cardinals to grab that last BCS bid.

I would pay a large amount of money to watch a Michigan/LSU Rose Bowl.....You talk about speed and defense...

As for Notre Dame, I will repeat what I said in the other thread. It will not come down to who is better, it will come down to whether Notre Dame is eligible. Too much money to be made by having ND in it. If Notre Dame is in the top eight (which if they lose, probably won't be but may), they're automatic. If they're in the top 14, they're eligible. I could see them outside the top 8, but not outside the top 14.

I agree with your picks...except Notre Dame will finagle their way into the Sugar Bowl, based solely on their appeal. The winner of the Big East will be in the Orange and the runner-up will be out from the Big East in my opinion.

Many will think that Michigan/Notre Dame in the Rose would be great, but really rematches don't do much for bowls. I see the Rose plucking UM and LSU

I think Arkansas beats Florida sending them to the Cotton or Capital One Bowl.

Florida may have gotten a little boost because South Carolina beat a ranked Clemson team. If USC loses that may help Fla a little bit and then USC would have to lose next week.
I'll be interested in seeing Florida's computer rankings this week. If they don't pick up loads of ground on Michigan, they will have to stomp Arkansas next week (something they haven't done to anybody, but a D1-AA opponent all year). If not, and USC loses, there will definitely be a MU/OSU rematch.

National Championship

Ohio State (Big 10 champ) vs. Southern Cal (Pac 10 champ)

*the NC game has to be between two conference champs*

Rose Bowl

Michigan (at large) vs. Florida/Arkansas (SEC champ)

*no brainer here*

Orange Bowl

Louisville (Big East champ) vs. Georgia Tech (ACC champ)

Sugar Bowl

Florida/Arkansas (at large) vs. Notre Dame (at large)

*LSU hasn't done anything to impress me this year and ND will sell tickets*

Fiesta Bowl

Oklahoma/Nebraska (Big 12 champ) vs. Boise St. (at large)

Your picks can't happen. The SEC champ is contractual to the Sugar Bowl, they can't be scooped up by the Rose Bowl. If the Rose Bowl wants an SEC team, they'll have to settle for LSU or the loser of Arkansas-Florida. If the loser is Arkansas, I doubt they'll be in play.

BCS Title:

tO$U vs USC. If USC loses to UCLA, all hell breaks loose.

Rose Bowl:

UM vs LSU seems to be popular. I think Florida is more likely, since I think they'll lose to Arkansas and be available. If an SEC fresh off a loss smells bad to the Rose Bowl people, Louisville is my honest-to-God next pick. I think it's pretty likely the Rose Bowl will pass on the Irish since Michigan already kicked them around and they've already been whooped in SoCal once this season.

Sugar Bowl:

Arkansas vs Notre Dame is my guess. I don't think it matters whether Florida or the Hogs play this game, if it's against the Irish the SEC is going to win. And I don't think the Sugar Bowl will be able to turn down the Irish.

Orange Bowl:

Georgia Tech vs Louisville. WVU stunk it up today, but I think they'll beat Rutgers. Not just wishful thinking on my part. Georgia Tech also stunk it up today, but they're the best team in the ACC that is eligible for their title game (I think Va Tech has actually become the best, but they didn't get there fast enough against their schedule.) If Louisville goes to the Rose Bowl, I'll take Florida here.

Fiesta Bowl:

Oklahoma or Nebraska? versus the Ugly Duckling the No One Wants (Boise St) No offense to Boise State, but it's true. No BCS bowl wants to take them, so they land with the last selection. The Fiesta Bowl will be a home game for the Big 12 champions, whoever they are.
