I used to go to a walk-in barber as I have simple requirements for a haircut. The two main barbers had cut my hair (whenever I lived in Somerset) for well over 40 years.

 

However those guys have slowed down and they hired a new younger guy. More often than not I'd get him. I left there because that guy is an obnoxious no-it-all, and I hate when there is another one of those around. :lol2:

 

Walked into a new barber shop a few years ago for a haircut and shave...it ruined me. I get a straight razor cut with hot towels, hot foam and lotion every time now.

No way I can justify $50 for a haircut. You boys must not have children or a mortgage, and are rolling in discretionary spending money. To me it's like spending $5 for a cup of Joe. What the heck is wrong with this country? Maybe I grew up in more modest circumstances than many of you and accordingly can't force myself to spend money on what I consider frivolous vanities. But to each his own. I can't tell people how to spend their money. Have at it.

I go to an old school 2 chair barber, and have had the same guy cut my hair for about a decade. I walk in, and if he has a long line I just come back tomorrow for the most part. Fortunately I have a fantastic head of hair, and only need to find someone that won't screw it up. :lol2:

With no experience I've been cutting my own hair for the last two years and even get compliments. Before that I used to walk-in at that same place @OlDog75 goes with no appointment.

That maybe the case now but when I was kid we never made an appointment. My dad and I would go to the barber as walk-ins. Everybody there was a walk-in.
