The dragon didn’t melt it all down. It’s hundreds of miles wide. He burned a section down by Eastwatch by the Sea. Castle Black was unaffected and far away.

Once again though before any of that happened. In episode 4 Before Tyrion even found out about Jon and all that and the beheading. The show for some reason started having people like Tyrion and people who believed in her start to doubt her. When literally nothing had happened that should have even changed their minds at that point. It was straight from oh we love her, she is our queen, she will be a good queen. To they beat the Night King and now all of a sudden they started acting like she wouldn't be a good queen. The changed a whole series long narrative on her literally in one episode out of no where even before others knew about Jon or the beheading.

It would of been nice for it to be developed more along with a number of other areas. I don’t know if anyone would argue that.

 

It’s been pretty clear for awhile Dany has pretty close to a zero tolerance stance on submission. Either you bend the knee or up in flames. Now I get that doesn’t justify burning the whole city to the ground because they rang the bells. I do feel people kind of overlook that part of her though. How many sane just rulers take such a hardline when it comes to submission?

Like I said before, I could live with what they did, but they could have definitely spent more time on it. It felt rushed.

I understand folks feel it was rushed. The pace didn’t bother me. I don’t need extra episodes of dialogue to get to the nitty gritty. I’m the exact opposite. I hated all of the talking and waiting to get to the action. Once all parties were assembled like the Avengers I was ready for fire and blood.

Part of the fun of this show was always the build up.

 

I still don't love the ending but the show as a whole was good. Hopefully GRRM finishes the books and gives some more details.

Your sign number one. The Tully's literally just killed one of her Allies at High Garden, and took all the money to give to king landing so they could buy the golden company army.

 

Your sign number two is a very weak attempt at your part. Yeah when Jon first told her about the Nigh King, she didn't believe it was a threat. But yet what did she do when a Raven was sent to her, telling her Jon and others were trapped and in trouble. She flew her dragons behind the wall to save them, while losing one of her own in the process.

 

Your sign number 3 she did the right thing telling him the truth, and you may want to watch it again, because you could tell she did have remorse about it when telling him that.

 

So none of your signs at all points to yeah she will just go kill everyone, even the ones who are innocent and giving up. Especially those who are citizens and not even fighting. There is a bunch more signs of her holding back and helping others. Than there are signs of her going crazy, and killing everyone.

 

She definitely was going to do what it takes to get the Iron Throne, especially after showing restraint for so long and waiting. So yeah her destroying the whole city including innocent citizens to win the Iron Throne definitely would have been in her character at that moment. However, since she had already won it by them giving up and the Bells ringing. She no longer needed to burn it all down, and nothing along the lines suggest that was within her character once they gave up.

Sign two isn’t weak. Jon went to her. She had not intentions of helping him until he bent the knee (yes he bends the knee after she saves them but she is set on submission) Jon is basically her prisoner. It is Tyrion that convinces her to compromise with Jon. It is only after the compromise, and the cave paintings that a relationship begins. She had no intentions of letting him leave until Tyrion talked her into it. Even after all of that she was still set on Jon and the north bending the knee. Even with her relationship with Jon she has still set on the north being under her control. If she had remained on the throne there would of been conflict unless the north yielded to her.

I'm with PP92. That last sentence is your opinion, and you are entitled to it, but we are going to have to agree to disagree. To me (and others) this has been part of who she was the entire time. It simply was held in check by people like Jorah, Tyrion and Missandei (to a lesser degree.)

Agree, honestly I always thought she was a little off and capable of going off on anybody at anytime.
