I'm not saying that this is the way it should happen every year till the end of time. I love the idea of a 16 team college football playoff, and I think that is what the sport needs because there are no right answers to who should play in the national title with Ohio State, every team has an argument. What can Michigan say to Boise State? What justification is there that any one loss team gets in before a team that has won all of its ballgames.

Its only check, not check mate...You say that loss has to come into play, then the games against good opponents that they have won have to come into play then too... If you have UM play USC schedule they might not lose to Oregen State, but I bet they would have lost a game to some team on that schedule. While USC probably would have been undefeated just like UM if they had UM's schedule except we dont knwo how USC would have done against Ohio State, because maybe they could have done what UM couldn't and that is win the game...

Based on the argument at hand, it means ND isn't that big of a win for USC. People talk about the Pac 10 as deeper than the Big 11. I don't buy it...
