HSBballfan24 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 According to their record North Oldham is a below average 8th region team. What’s going on in Union?! Wow.
Neerfan25 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 I have watched North Oldham play a couple of times this year and they can shoot the lights out on any given night. The problem is that the 8th region is pretty deep 1-8.
ConverseAllStar Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 North Oldham shot lights out last night - 70% from the field.
The Double Deuce Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Nothing to see here...everything is fine....rinse...repeat... Ryle Administration needs to hit the reset button.
4 Quarters Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Nothing to see here...everything is fine....rinse...repeat... Ryle Administration needs to hit the reset button. Totally agree, I'm not saying the coach is all the problem, but there has to be a change after this season.
Woodland Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Totally agree, I'm not saying the coach is all the problem, but there has to be a change after this season. Then where is the problem? I’ve watched about 4 games a year at Ryle over the last 4 years. He may know the game of basketball he doesn’t relate with the kids. He seems to be trying to fit round pegs in square holes. Ryle will not win with the current coaching staff. He’s bigger than the team.

PP1 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Nothing to see here...everything is fine....rinse...repeat... Ryle Administration needs to hit the reset button. If you were an administrator at Ryle, what would you do to fix the program?
The Double Deuce Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 If you were an administrator at Ryle, what would you do to fix the program? I would get deeply involved to figure out how we got here. I would talk to current and recent players and families. I would spend a lot of time with the coaching staff to get a good feel for them. I would understand where we were, how we got here, and where we want to be. Then, I assume, I would hit the reset button, start fresh, clean the slate, and then be a LOT more involved moving forward to make sure we don't wander down this path again.
Woodland Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 If you were an administrator at Ryle, what would you do to fix the program? I’d hire a coach not a teacher.
ColonelMike Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 According to their record North Oldham is a below average 8th region team. What’s going on in Union?! Wow. North has a new coach that was hired one week before the practices began. They are still getting used to him, and his style - he's completely revamped the defense, especially. As a result, the Mustangs' record is extremely deceptive. They lost to Ballard by just 2 points, and it was a one possession game against Waggener heading into the final minute of play. On the other hand, they lost to Trimble County - ending a 17 game winning streak against the Raiders...and suffered some big losses to teams like Simon Kenton. Bottom-line is that they are a team that is trying to come together as a unit, and their improvement has actually been quite impressive, as new players have learned to step up offensively and as they become more proficient with the new defense. As such, every night is a question mark - How much improvement will they show tonight? I'm not really too terribly surprised at this score, to be honest. However, I believe if they tossed it up again tonight, it also would be no surprise to see Ryle win. CM

Ryle JV played majority of 2nd half, as did North Oldham, Coach Mcfarland bailed out at halftime. If you cant shoot, cant defend, play without passion and turn it over 20 times per game, you cannot win against an average team.

Did he leave ?
