Is this a grad transfer? If so, does that still block him from going to another SEC school?

Early Contenders:

- Maryland (Mike Locksley HC at Maryland was the Bama OC this year)

- Oklahoma (recent success with transfer QBs)

- UCF

- Wisconsin

- Miami

He is a grad transfer and will be immediately eligible for the 2019 season. He may transfer to another SEC school and also be immediately eligible.

So the way the NCAA wrote the new rules is it still allows the school to block transfers within a conference. The SEC is really the only conference following this rule. It does apply to grad transfers as well. It’s up to Bama whether or not they will block the transfer though. He could transfer to an SEC school but would have to recieve Bamas permission. He can transfer outside of the SEC without Bamas permission.

I would love to see what Lincoln Riley could do for him should he choose Oklahoma. Maryland has been a circus recently and I doubt he takes the risk of going there unless Locksley and Canada can really sell him.

Maryland would be a much better possibility than Oklahoma IMO. Im not sure Jalen is better then Spencer Rattler tbh. Rattler will be a freshmen obviously, but the dude can ball. I think both sides would have mutual interest, but Oklahoma can’t guarantee him the job. If Jalen was going to go somewhere he may not win the job he might as well stay at Bama.

He has a national championship, he's better than any freshman coming in based on that alone.

Not to mention, OU wouldn't accept him if they thought they would play anyone over him.

He scored 0 points in that National Championship. Rattler is very talented. If it’s close at all, the tie goes to the freshmen in all likelihood. I included Oklahoma on my list because I’m sure there will be interest from both sides, but l just don’t see it working there personally.

He also the year of that National Championship did beat Clemson. Then even the National Championship game they lost, he did everything he could to help them win. Watson just happened to make one more play than him.

He would play over that freshman for Oklahoma if he went there.

There is zero percent chance if OU allowed Hurts to transfer there they would play a freshman over him. Zero. :lol2:

This. It wouldn't even require a "competition" or even a discussion.

Riley told Rattler he would not be taking a transfer (Justin Fields) last week.

TCU, Auburn or Maryland make sense amongst others.

That’s my point. They wouldn’t except his transfer in all likelihood if they like Rattler enough.
