Jalen Hurts Transfer

He also the year of that National Championship did beat Clemson. Then even the National Championship game they lost, he did everything he could to help them win. Watson just happened to make one more play than him.

He would play over that freshman for Oklahoma if he went there.

I don’t think it’s a guarantee he would start over Rattler. If OU did bring him in they would be bringing him in to start. I don’t see Oklahoma as a super likely destination though.

Penn State would be a good place for him.

Tommy Stevens?

I don’t think Hurts would be a good fit at OU anyways. They like throwing it all over and that isn’t Hurts strong suit.

Exactly why I don’t think it would be a stretch to think Rattler would start over Hurts if Hurts did transfer.

He's following two NCAA coaches on Twitter, Kiffin (former coach) and UM's Manny Diaz.

Hurts while he does obviously have the relationship with Kiffin, he can do much better than FAU. Miami I believe could be a real player. They don’t have a QB. They hired Major Applewhite as OC who runs an offense Jalen could thrive well in. The defense is going to be good again. Miami is an intriguing possibility for Jalen IMO.

If Rattler and Hurts are on the same roster, Rattler isn't playing. It's pretty simple.

It amazes me how people act like Hurts is some scrub. Dude led Bama to the title game two seasons ago. He's one of the better QBs in the country.

We know Grant lives on hot takes, this is just another one. :lol2:

I would say at a program like OU, there are no guaranteed starters. If both of these QB's were on the Roster, I would suspect Riley would play the one who gave them the best chance to win, much like Dabo and Saban have done the last couple of years!

There are two scenarios regarding Hurts and OU:

1. OU accepts Hurts as a transfer, he's the starter.

2. He doesn't transfer to OU, because Rattler is their guy.

They are not going to accept Hurts without knowing he's going to be the guy.

Then they won’t be on the same roster. Hurts doesn’t fit what OU wants to do, Rattler does.

I agree. He’s not a scrub by any means, he just doesn’t fit a Big 12 offense.

This is exactly what I’m saying.

I am not arguing the scenarios, I am arguing the fact that one of the hottest names in Coaching is going to guarantee a QB that may or may not fit his system a starting spot with no challengers. Lincoln Riley isn't going to sell his soul for that.

Now could OU be forthright with Hurts and tell him he can come in and compete for the job...of course. But I find it hard to believe a Coach as hot as Riley, is going to guarantee a QB a job for 1 year. Just like Ratler is their guy, but someone comes in an out performs him, they wouldn't go with the best player in that situation.
