Article from the Lexington Herald:

One of the most impressive careers in Kentucky high school basketball history has come to an early and unfortunate end.

Pendleton County star Dontaie Allen — a UK signee — was diagnosed Wednesday with a torn ACL, two weeks after being injured during a game. Coach Keaton Belcher told the Herald-Leader that Allen will undergo surgery for the injury, and he’ll obviously miss the rest of his senior season, bringing an end to his high school career.

I am speechless. He has worked so hard to achieve what he has. He has already vowed to be back and better than ever, praising God for the blessings as well as the adversities. thank you #11 for the many nights of enjoyment you gave to the PC community.

I just talked to @dontaieallen11. He is gonna have surgery on his knee. Feel bad because he was having a monster year but like I told him, there are always bumps in the road. Adversity is a part of sport, especially basketball. You come out stronger by dealing with it head on!!!!

That really sucks, hopefully he has a speedy recovery. Didn't the injury happen a few weeks ago or was there something new that happened?

Happened on Dec.22. MRI today revealed the tear. Initial x-rays and MRI showed no structural damage.

Gotcha, I was just curious if anything else happened. I don't follow that close, but the first thing I heard is that is was a minor injury. Hate that for him.

He came back in after the injury and played the rest of the second quarter, which was about a minute of play. He was clearly favoring the knee. Him coming back in, coupled with the original test results, led people to believe the injury wasn't too serious.

There was already a buzz about him coming to play at Brossart on the 30th.

Tough break for Dontaie and the Cats, as well as all of those who wanted to get a look at the UK recruit.

Speedy recovery, and fruitful career with the Blue and White Cats!!!
