Now down to one.

Again, does anyone know the last time a team ran table in regular season?

Clay County 1989?

Again, does anyone know the last time a team ran table in regular season?

Clay County 1989 was the last team to enter the Sweet 16 undefeated, and Brewers High School in Marshall County was the last to go undefeated, including the Sweet 16. That was back in 1948.

Paul Laurence Dunbar defeated Scott County 91-84.

John Hardin 30-0

Not to discredit their 30-0 accomplishment, but ... does JH have any wins against Top 20 teams? Have they beaten any of the top teams from Lvill, Lex, or. Nky?

They beat LaRue County 64-64 on January 11th. LaRue is currently at #13 in the BGP rankings. That's their only win over any of the current Top 20.

They didn't beat them by much- not a convincing win! LOL

I think JH could beat a lot of teams in the top 20. Whether they are the 2nd best team in the state is debatable, but my stance on this all year long is if they are not then who is?

Whether or not John Hardin is truly the second best team in the state, the mere fact that they've gone 30-0 with a adequate schedule of at least average to decent competition, and have arrived at post season play unscathed is extremely remarkable.

Even most good teams have a bad night here and there, but to remain perfect throughout the entire regular season is nothing to sneeze at. This shows a lot of team character to be this doggone consistent. I only wish that I had the chance to see them play. There's got to be a serious mental toughness with this team for this is such a great accomplishment that these guys can be forever proud of.

A notable team that "just missed" going completely undefeated was the 1979 Lexington Lafayette Generals, under Jock Sutherland.

Unless my memory is faulty (very possible), Lafayette was undefeated heading into their district final, where they lost (I think to Henry Clay). The two met again in the region finals, where Lafayette had the last laugh...and then proceeded to win the state championship.

It's just a ridiculously hard thing for any team to accomplish, no matter how talented.
