January 4, 20197 yr Author It has been confirmed by the most reliable Ohio State sources that Justin Fields is in Columbus and is enrolled in classes to start on Monday. Fields is a Buckeye.
January 4, 20197 yr Author Fields is the highest rated recruit to ever play for Ohio State based on 247 ratings. Fields at .9998 barely is ahead of Terrelle Pryor at .9997.
January 4, 20197 yr Author It should be noted that Fields has not yet been granted immediate eligibility. Based on the timeline for Shea Patterson’s eligibility last year, we may not know for a while if Fields will play next year.

January 4, 20197 yr Gotta imagine this means Martell is gonna leave, right? Especially if Fields get the waiver to play right away.

I don’t think it’s a guarantee Tate transfers this year if he loses the starting job. He could stay on for the season and graduate in 3 years and have 2 years of eligibility left and can play immediately wherever he goes as a head transfer. Either way he wouldn’t be playing in 2019 and in this case he is 1 play away from being the starter. I think that’s the more likely scenario because I don’t see how transferring immediately benefits him in anyway.

I'm sure he can come up with a reason to move back home and play immediately.

January 4, 20197 yr Author He's from the West Coast, right? I'm sure he can come up with a reason to move back home and play immediately. Las Vegas to be exact. The whole transfer process is become more and more cloudy. Fields is likely to get his immediate eligibility because some drunken baseball player called him a racially derogatory word. :idunno:
January 4, 20197 yr Should be some good competition in Columbus and I can't wait. With nearly the entire defense back with another year of experience and hopefully a new DC they should be challenge for league again, already got rid of Grinch from a safety perspective. Offense is the question mark with Jordan and Prince gone from the line (the latter thank goodness), virtually all of the WRs and for sure Haskins. However, the schedule is fitting in 2019 for a good run!

Without a marquee out of conference game, Ohio States margin for error is relatively small. That and the end of the season is brutal with the last two games being Penn State and Michigan.

That and the end of the season is brutal with the last two games being Penn State and Michigan. As long as they don't have another annual "laying of the egg" vs an unranked opponent I think they will be ok. Just trying to be optimistic but I like the fact they are home vs. MSU, Wisconsin, and Penn St. I do worry slightly about Nebraska who is a sleeper and Northwestern being on the road. Getting the right coaches in place is going to be huge.
January 4, 20197 yr Most analyst say Lawrence is the best HS QB recruit ever, that seems right. Same people say Fields is on his heels. Please let that be right.
January 4, 20197 yr Author Most analyst say Lawrence is the best HS QB recruit ever, that seems right. Same people say Fields is on his heels. Please let that be right. According to 247 they are the 1 and 2 QB recruits ever if I read it correctly. (Just for those unaware this only goes back to 2000)
