Campbell is #5. He gets some time as a running back and plays some WR.

This game will be all Jumpers. Hazard would have been out in the first round had Paintsville spit the bit.

 

Somerset - A Lot

Hazard - Not So Much

Well it's at our place this time so hopefully we won't have to dodge any shootouts:laugh:

 

I don't know a lot about Hazard except that they pass the ball and they have one of the Olinger family at QB and a good WR. Anybody know some specifics about them that they would like to share?

 

Defense: Mainly a 4-4 base with different looks, however they shade the safety to the offenses best wide out ( Cole will have a bracket coverage) they also give a team a Cover 2 look when you spread them out.

 

Offense: pretty well balanced, like to roll the QB and run crossing routes and WR screens. Running game is suspect, QB draw is one of their favorite plays.

 

OL/DL has decent size. DL likes to pinch inside and create a pile up and force the RB to kick the play outside which allows their team speed to make plays.

 

With this imofrmation I'm sure Somerset will have no trouble. You can send a check or money order to...

Have you looked at the Pikeville film??? I'm assuming you have...

 

IMO Hazard had a brilliant game plan. They figured they were a huge underdog, so they ran the ball and ate clock as much as they could, even though they are a better passing team. They tried to hang around and keep it close, and try to have a shot in the 4th...If Pikeville would have got up by a couple of scores early it would have been over, and you would have seen a result like the first game between the two. Somerset must come out and get up on Hazard by a couple of scores early ...don't let them hang around and shorten the game. Somerset will do this IMO and take care of business...

I think Hazard will have a hard time stopping the Jumpers. Hazard will come ready to play but it won't matter, after upsetting Pikeville the Bulldogs will have the Jumpers full attention. Somerset 48 Hazard 14.

After we (Lynn Camp) played Somerset in the regular season I said that Somerset would be playing in Louisville at the end of the season. This win by Hazard seems to have made the path a bit easier, especially since they now get to play the region championship game at home. I predict Somerset wins this game and also defeats whoever comes to town for the Semifinal game next week.

Yes, I've seen the films now. I posted that Friday night before we were able to get our hands on some film. I saw the Pikeville film. Very conservative in that ballgame.

I hope you're right Hit Somebody! Somerset is taking the playoffs one game at a time though. Trying to reach that ultimate goal.

Somerset's record, definetly doesn't reflect their team. No offense to Hazard, but Harlan beat them 34-0 in the regular season, however, Hazard is playing way better ball than they did against the Dragons. I just don't see a way for Hazard to shut down the Cole and Deaton combo...atleast hardly anybody has yet.

The Hoskins kid has shut down many great combos at his corner pos. to the point that no one will test him-I hope they (somerset) try and test him.It should make for some good football. He did a fantastic job against Danvilles Big wide receiver and had a pick against Pikeville in the earlier meeting this year (as well as the free safety- Mehan- had 2picks in the first meeting and aTD saving INT last wk. And all the other teams Hazard played stayed away from his side- but be careful on the other side even with a true freshman alt. with a Jr. they have also made some good plays aswell.Good Luck DAWGS.
