The best win Penn State has is a barn-burner over Appy State.

They've beat no one close to what can be considered a "good" team.

I was wondering when one of the “Penn State sucks” people would show up.

Props UK for not welching. I think the game will be closer though.

I don't follow recruiting the way a lot of you do.

I know UK recruits pretty heavy in Ohio. Do Penn St and UK compete for any of the same kids up that way?

I would think a win in this game would give UK a recruiting boost.

It's not so much "Penn State sucks" as it is the B1G sucks. The whole conference has been absurdly overrated all year, and Penn State just happens to be the most overrated team in the most overrated conference IMO.

Bowl games can be pretty fickle things. You never know the mind set of the teams.

Are they happy to just be there?

Are they let down because when the season started they had playoff hopes?

Are they motivated to prove they belong?

Are they going someplace great, where they might cut loose and have a good time?

Not really, Franklin takes some in Ohio but not really any UK were in on. He dominates PA and the east coast.

That is categorically untrue. Their best win would be Iowa, then Wisconsin, then hammering Pitt (early in the year) and Maryland (late in the year). Then the OT game against Appy St. from the opener.

Secondly, Penn State is very sound defensively (22nd in the country), which is of note when you consider between October 6th and November 10th UK scored: 14, 14, 15, 17, and 7.

UK could certainly win the game, and I think it is great for the state / region they get a New Year's Day game, but to act like they aren't a decided underdog in this game is crazy.

You're going under the assumption that Wisconsin and Iowa are good teams. They're average. Pitt is bad. They won their division in the ACC because everyone in that conference but Clemson was bad. Maryland is terrible and didn't even qualify for a bowl.

Is Penn State really that good defensively, or is the B1G just that atrocious offensively? I think it's a combination.

I've said since day 1 of the college football season that Penn State was vastly overrated. They've shown nothing at all this season to sway me from that opinion.

Who ranked in the year end top 25 have they beaten this year? I'll hang up and listen.

Penn State and UK recruit very little if any of the same guys. I’d be surprised if there are more than 2-3 guys on either roster that were recruited heavily by both schools.

Obviously, I haven’t forgotten your PSU trashing. Not just you to be fair a few others who haven’t chimed in yet.

I actually predicted that UK might play PSU in a post back then. I think it’s an interesting matchup.

There’s no way UK can lose this one right?

There’s no way UK can lose this one right?

Oh, they absolutely can. The UK team that stepped on the field for 6 of the last 7 games of the season is capable of losing to anyone. I don't think they will, but it's certainly possible.

I’ll say it again. The UK team from the 2nd half of the South Carolina game on was not a good football team.

T-Birds and Family will be there. Tickets bought. Spending a few days 1st on the Beach In St Pete, then heading over for the Game and a few days with “Mickey”

What section are your tickets? I'm about to look.

I will be there also. My in-laws live in Ocala and we go down there for New Years, it is about 2 hours to Orlando. I bought my tickets a couple months ago hoping they would make it. We are in section 148.

Kentucky 27-24.
