I'm a realist, I know Clemson is a better team than the Irish.. I can't guarantee anything in these playoffs, but I'd love to see. ND win.

ND's D-Line needs to dominate because if Clemson has a weakness it's the offensive line.

Is that what Notre Dame is left with? Fans who don’t even think they are better than Clemson? Come on man the Irish are good for one of the few times since 1988. This board should be filled with ND fans telling us how great you all are for the next month until the game. Why even be a fan if you are going to be so pessimistic in the good times? I’m just messing with you man, but seriously have a little faith in your Irish.

Notre Dame deserves it more than the teams who are out.

I love that most arent giving Notre Dame a shot. Notre Dame is built more like the Bama teams who won titles a few years ago. A good defense with future NFL players. An offense with big running backs and Wrs and a good accurate passer at qb.

I can agree they deserve to be there, they went undefeated against a decent but not stellar schedule. While they may deserve to be there, I don't think they are better than UGA, Oklahoma or Ohio State...all teams they are ranked ahead of.

Here is my thing. Give Notre Dame OSUs schedule and Notre Dame is probably still undefeated. Especially since two of the best teams OSU beat Notre Dame already beat. So I dont see how anyone can say OSU is better. OSU is more flashy yes, flashy doesnt mean better. As an all around team Notre Dame is better than both Oklahoma and OSU.

 

If Notre Dame plays Georgia's schedule I think they only have one lost and that's Bama. I definitely dont think Notre Dame gets steam rolled by LSU like Georgia did.

LSU is probably the hardest place to play a game, especially at night. They just play with a different energy at home at night and the fans are right on top of you. UGA could have kept it closer, but if your only losses are to #1 and #11 on the road...that's not to shabby of a season.

I could certainly say the same thing about Notre Dames schedule. It was great on paper but just look at it from a whole. Michigan, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Florida State, and USC all are big names on paper and before the season but everyone dramatically underachieved. It got to the point where Syracuse and Northwestern are the 2nd and 3rd best wins on your schedule. Thats nothing special. And yes I know Northwestern is also Ohio States 3rd best win. Because despite a bunch of big time programs on that schedule it’s a whole lot of nothing besides Michigan on Notre Dames schedule. I’d say the same thing about Clemson. Their schedule is crap. What’s NDs signature road win though? At Northwestern? Which was probably 60% ND fans anyways? I’m not sure ND goes into Happy Valley and wins that game. Penn State isn’t great, but they are a different team in a white out. Hell I’m still not convinced they beat Michigan if they played week 13 instead of week 1. All that said I agree with you on ND/ Georgia. Notre Dame is a better team than Georgia and I’m not sure it’s close. Georgia lost their two biggest games of the year including a bad loss to LSU. But I can also say that while Notre Dame is more well rounded than Ohio State and Oklahoma, both are so dynamic on offense that I think they would both beat Notre Dame. However, I do think you matchup well against Clemson. At the end of the day college football is all about matchups.
