My father has told me a lot of Ronnie Lyons and many friends have also. They have told me that he could not only qualify for this category as top 5 shooter they've seen but also top 5 quickest players they have ever seen.

I heard many stories from his softball playing days that said he could beat out any grounder in the infield.

It doesn't matter where he went to college - the thread is greatest shooters in high school. I saw him score about 50 against Alice Lloyd's varsity team in an exhibition game when he was about 35 years old. Like him or not, he's a top-5 shooter in Kentucky high school history.

It says top five to come out of Kentucky. That sounds to me like they had to go somewhere.

 

Scoring 75 against Feds Creek doesn't make you one of the best ever and certainly not a "couple of notches" ahead of a guy who starred in the Southeastern Conference. Scoring 20 against LSU is a little tougher than scoring 50 against Alice-Lloyd.

You apparently have some sort of personal issue with Stepp or something. There's no way to deny that he's a top-5 shooter in Kentucky high school history.

I would compare them a few notches below Ervin Stepp and King Kelly Coleman is how I'd compare them.

The guys you're talking about are not close to Stepp and Coleman as far as greatest shooters in high school history. I didn't start anything, I just said the facts.

No, Cox and Draud and Lofton and some of the others are known for their SHOOTING. They shot well against QUALITY competition on the high school and college level.

 

If we were talking about players, we'd have to start with Griffith, Unseld, Chapman etc..

Scott Draud has to be #1. If you never seen him shoot then your missing possibly the best shooter in high school history. Anywhere. He still puts on shooting clinics and can stand at half court and make 10 in a row with only one hand. Its amazing. I once saw him at NKU camp and he shot 200 in about 25minutes and only missed twice.
