Is he related to Steve Spurrier? Just wondering since they both have the last name. Pretty cool if they are.

Yes they are related. I forget how but they are

Grandson, I believe.

He is his grandson his father is Steve Spurrier JR who was coaching at WKU.

Believe it’s his grandson. Gavin’s dad was on Mike Sanford’s staff at WKU last season.

Wow. That's pretty cool. Does he already have an offer from Florida? If not you'd think he'd get one since his grandpa is part of the Florida coaching staff.

I could be mistaken but I believe he is going to Duke on an academic scholarship and isn’t going to play football.

I also believe he is one of three triplets. 2 boys and a girl.

I could be wrong about that also.

Yes Gavin is the Grandson of Steve Spurrier. His dad is Steve Spurrier JR. He is a triplet.

His Brother is Luke Spurrier a cross country track star. His sister is Emiline Spurrer and they have 4 other siblings.

Will coach Spurrier Sr. be at the game on Friday night? Could be cool!

Pegasus Sports would love to interview The Coach if he happens to be there. Can anyone from South Warren confirm for me if he will be in attendance?

Not heard anything about him attending this game. If he comes no one will really know it unless your looking for him. He’s very private and a lot of times he watches the sporting times spartan nation live feed.

Gavin Spurrier has committed to play football at Duke.

That’s great! Will he be on scholarship or a PWO?

I’m guessing scholarship. I haven’t seen PWO mentioned anywhere. I could have sworn someone told me he already had a full academic ride to Duke or something like that. I knew he was going to Duke but I didn’t realize football at Duke might be an option for him.

Didn’t Steve Spurrier play his college football at Duke?
