That's actually a Cov Cath 'campaign' that dates back to the 1997 playoffs. I still have the first edition Beat Highlands tshirt that I wore under my pads for the Mud Bowl.

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but years ago I was told by a HHS football alum that Coach Mueller used to have the Birds break every single huddle during summer practice by saying "Beat Colonels!"

Not just that, after every drill, meeting and during roll call. Coach called your name and you did not answer with "here", but rather with BEAT COLONELS!!!!!

That makes a lot of sense to me.

 

Every year is the same, the Birds have to beat the Colonels and the Colonels have to beat the Birds.

Really looking forward to tonight’s game. I think a blowout win for the Colonels is the only outcome that would be disappointing to me. This year was a good year for the birds win lose or draw, feels like we are back to being Highlands. GO BIRDS!

Justin Frisk used to wear a Cov Cath shirt with the angry Colonel face on it under his Highlands Jersey. I assume it was from his freshman year, I always thought that was kind of cool.

I had the same shirt. I wore it underneath my pads for every single game except the Mud Bowl. That shirt was kind of standard operating procedure to wear under your shoulderpads for a solid decade.
